Fish live in their own toilet, so without the filter, the water would become so dirty that your fish would not be able to survive.

The filter breaks the waste down (and any uneaten bits of food) to keep your Vivo world clean and healthy.

Inside your Power-Filter there's a filter pad, with 2 kinds of magic foam. The white foam removes the waste you can see, such as excess food and fish waste. Then the black foam gets rid of smells, poisons and other nasties that you can't easily see.

So these filter pads are pretty clever but they don't last forever. That's why it's really important that you change the filter pad whenever you are told to do so by the Digi-Care Guide.

There's also a 'Filter Plate' attached to the pump area. The 'friendly bacteria' that keep your Vivo healthy live on this plate so make sure you don't clean them off!
