Could mean:
- Too sunny
- Too much food
- Faulty filter
- Needs new water
Too sunny:
Is your Vivo in a super sunny setting, for example in the window? If so, move it! It might look sparkly in the sun but too much direct light causes algae that can make the water go cloudy - and take the sparkle out of your Vivo.
Too much food:
Feeding your fish is fun but don't go wild! Your Digi-Care Guide will tell you when it's dinner time for your fish - and you musn't give them snacks between meals! Too much food causes too much waste and clogs the filter. Cloudy water could be a sign that the filter is struggling to keep up with this excess food and waste. Do a Vivo Test to check the water hasn't gone bad.
Faulty filter:
Cloudy water might mean that you need to fix the filter. Water ought to run out of the filter from both side outlets. If this isn't happening then usually you can fix it by changing the filter pad. Make sure you change the pads regularly to stop them from getting all grotty.
Needs new water:
If it's still cloudy carry out a Vivo 4-week clean and then continue changing water ( remove to clean level) every two days until the water clears. Don't forget to add the right dose of Vivo Safe to protect your fish from the nasty chemicals found in tap water.
